Brand Activation Photographer London

I am a brand activation photographer in London. I shoot the space as it was built, the product in it, and the people using it — for agencies and in-house teams who need pictures the client, press and social can use the same week.

An activation is not a conference with nicer lighting. It is a room, a street or a house the brand has taken over. The photographs have to prove that the thing happened and that it looked like the brief.

Recent activations

Lexus Takumi Townhouse, Covent Garden
Lexus took a townhouse in Covent Garden for Japan Week and built the rooms around the cars and Japanese partner brands. Two UX sat in the courtyard garden, including the UX 300e Takumi. Inside there was food, drink, and people moving through the house. That is the brief on a brand activation like this: the product in a real space, not on a stand.

Lexus Drive & Dine
Lexus sponsored Drive & Dine Theatre, a drive-in cinema series in the UK with food from Tom Kerridge. I photographed the cars in front of the outdoor screen so the brand was part of the event, not a logo on the edge of it.

What the set has to include

Agencies booking a brand activation photographer in London usually need more than a few hero shots of the product.

The set has to show how the space was built, the finished rooms, and the product where people actually stood. If there are partner brands in the house, they need to be in the pictures. So do the guests using the place, not only looking at the car. Close details matter because those are the frames that survive in a recap deck and in press.

That mix is what gets reused: social that night, the client site, the next pitch.

I mainly work as a solo operator. Fast and invisible, which is what you want when the day is about the brand and not the crew. Get in, get the picture, move on to the next moment of magic. It keeps the cost down and it keeps disruption to the installation to a minimum.

I also shoot timelapse on activations. People moving around the product and the space creates great content to support already strong event photography, and clients love it.

Working with agencies

Most of this work comes through advertising, experiential and production teams. I can take a written brief or just run with it, shoot the day as it happens, and turn a hero set around quickly enough for that night’s posts. The full gallery follows.

If you are the producer, you get one photographer who can cover the build, the rooms, the product and the people. A second shooter only if the brief needs one.

London and the UK

Based in London, which is where most of the activations happen. I also shoot UK-wide and internationally when the brief is further afield.

Do you photograph brand activations in London?

Yes. I photograph brand activations across London for agencies and brand teams. Recent work includes the Lexus Takumi Townhouse in Covent Garden during Japan Week, Lexus Drive & Dine, and Rolls-Royce brand events. The pictures cover the built space, the product and the people in it, for press, social and the client.

What is the difference between brand activation photography and corporate event photography?

Brand activation photography is the takeover — a house, a pop-up, a street, a cinema with cars in front of it. Corporate event photography is conferences, awards, briefings and internal days. I shoot both. Activations are this page. Conferences and corporate days are on the events page.

Do you photograph product launches and experiential events?

Yes. Product launches and experiential events use the same coverage: the product, the room, the guests. If the launch is a built experience rather than a stage and a backdrop, it belongs with brand activation work. If it is a conference with a reveal, it belongs with corporate events.

Do you work with advertising and experiential agencies?

Yes. Most bookings come from agencies and in-house marketing teams. I work from the agency brief, stay out of the guests’ way, and deliver a set the account team can send to the client and to press without a second edit.

How fast is delivery?

A first set is usually ready the same night or the next morning so social and press can move. The full gallery follows within a few days. Exact timing depends on the volume and the brief.

Do you only photograph automotive activations?

No. Automotive is a large part of the work because those briefs often put a car in a built space. Lexus, Rolls-Royce, Toyota, Ford. The same approach applies to hospitality and other brand takeovers. Japan House and Hyatt are rooms and people rather than a stage.
