Vanguard Supreme 53F City of London
Vanguard's Superb SUPREME 53F Waterproof Photographers Case
A perfect case for long trips away or when you need to take more than a handful of lenses or equipment on a job. Vanguard's Supreme 53F (Foam) Carrying Case looks and feels great and is extremely well built, infact it's virtually indestructible! Although I didn't put it's strength to the test, the hard polypropylene case is water proof up to 5 meters and airtight making it suitable for really extreme conditions. With handles on no less than 3 sides making it easy to load in and out of the boot always ensuring you have a safe grip. There is a retractable tow handle and two sturdy wheels which makes it ideal to take long distances across the city and on the tube, which you will need as it's heavy when fully furnished. Six quick-release, easy-opening latches keep the case firmly and securley locked.
Vanguard Supreme 53F with Promotion Motorsport Silverstone
Inside houses 2 thick layers of foam affording you two layers of gear. There is loads of room inside and even just one of the layers allows for around 10 lenses and a body. The foam is in hexagon form which I found strange at first but this is great for holding your precious glass in place. This also lets you swap out for a slightly smaller or larger lens meaning that you have more options when packing for a job. They also have the Supreme 53D a soft divider inside option for organising gear that doubles up as a stand-alone bag, nice.
Vanguard Supreme 53F Festival
I am really happy with the Supreme 53 and think it will come with me on most jobs. For smaller shoots I may well look into some of the Vanguard Supreme smaller options.

The Siam hotel private pier
Shooting for Bangkok's Premier Urban Resort, The Siam Hotel.
I was delighted to shoot some hotel photography for The Siam hotel in Bangkok, an urban luxury resort in the heart of the city. The hotel is spread over a large very green and lush art deco styled complex, nestled along the Chao River boasting it's own pier and private boat.

The main entrance and building of The Siam is full of open air courtyards, a lush marble lobby, and an esquisite collection of museum worthy antiques. You are greeted with a very warm welcome, in keeping with the exceptional level of service provided by the hotel's staff, which includes your very own personal butler. Once past reception, you are confronted with a breathtaking atrium housing eight large banana palms towering three stories high. The main hotel houses The Siam suites, beautifully presented rooms with more than generous proportions, double heighted ceilings and luxurious bathrooms. As well as two different suite types, you will find a retro cinema room, a library full of wonders, a gym with it's own boxing ring, Snooker and lots of hidden corners full of curiosities. The basement of the main building houses a large spa with every treatment you could ever want.

Nightshift market worker. Bangkok backstreets. - Dean Wright Photography
Postcards from Bangkok
Wandering around central Bangkok in the middle of the night should feel daunting, it doesn't. We arrive at our hotel late afternoon and are welcomed with Jasmine's Necklaces. After admiring the view, we head out. A few drinks and some food later and it's already dark. Our first trip to Thailand, I always love to cram a lot in on the first day of travelling but we sit and do some people watching into the night. Our last bar, a dodgy draft beer then back to the hotel. I pick up the camera and head back out on my lonesome. The streets are deserted until very central and off the main drag a hive of activity. Market vendors pack their stalls into warehouses and late night revellers make their way home into the night.
Stuck in traffic, outside China Town, Bangkok. - Dean Wright Photography
Stuck in traffic just outside the China Town District. Even the traffic in Bangkok looks beautiful to me. It is December and the weather is great not to hot, but lovely. The Tuc Tuc driver tries to convince us to buy a tailored suit, but we are in no mood for clothes shopping. We are heading to Sampeng Lane Market, and it turns out to be worth the trip. Endless narrow streets under cover and rammed full of people, mostly locals it seems. Lots of made in China goods on sale here and lots of great street food.
Bangkok's best floating river store - Dean Wright Photography
A trip along The Chao Phraya River is a must. We spot what must be surely Bangkok's best floating shop. We will need to visit it next time. Amongst the grand hotels and temples some buildings on the edge of the river look like they could be washed away any second. We make a stop at Wat Pho, an amazing temple complex, one of the oldest and biggest in Bangkok. It is also known as The Temple of the Reclining Buddha, thanks to a giant golden 43 meter long Buddha who looks very chilled out.
Satay and Donut cafe Chatuchak Market Bangkok - Dean Wright Photography
Bangkok's biggest market, Chatuchak is full of, well, everything, giant crystal formations, pets of every variety, some amazing art galleries and lots of knock off fare. My favourite find is fresh green coconut with a straw. You could easily spend two days here walking around. We should have left more room in the luggage.
Sunset from the top of the Banyan Tree Hotel Bangkok - Dean Wright Photography
Perched on top of our hotel, The Moon Bar, a perfect place to take in a glorious sunset and say goodbye Bangkok. Our next destination Thailand's Phi Phi Islands.
We return to Bangkok this December to shoot the amazing Siam Hotel, a luxury resort in the heart of Bangkok. Stay tuned for more Thailand shots.
